Certain medications, skincare products, skin conditions, and recent cosmetic treatments may prevent or delay your brow appointment.
Please contact us before booking if any of the following apply:
Accutane or isotretinoin use within the past 12 months (our studio’s waxing policy).
Retinol, Retin-A, tretinoin, or other strong topical retinoids used near the brows within the past two weeks.
Laser resurfacing or microneedling within the past four weeks.
AHA, BHA, or glycolic acid peels near the brows within the past 2–4 weeks.
Active eczema, psoriasis, irritation, or sunburn in the brow area.
Recent eye surgery or permanent makeup.
Extremely sensitive or compromised skin.
Botox around the treatment area within the past 48 hours.
Alopecia or significant brow hair loss that may affect treatment suitability.
Not every restriction applies to every brow service. Some may only prevent waxing, while others may affect lamination or tinting. We may recommend an alternative treatment or ask you to reschedule.

permanent makeup
-
Your safety is our top priority! Certain circumstances prevent us from performing permanent makeup services.
We cannot perform permanent makeup if:
You are under 18 years old. We do not perform permanent makeup on minors, even with parental consent.
You are pregnant or breastfeeding. We postpone treatments until after pregnancy and breastfeeding as a precaution.
You have an active infection or illness that could make the procedure unsafe.
You have an active skin condition in the treatment area, including eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or significant irritation.
You have a known allergy to essential treatment ingredients that cannot be safely substituted.
You have a history of keloid scarring. Our studio does not perform permanent makeup on clients prone to developing keloids.
You have taken Accutane (isotretinoin) within the past 12 months. This is our studio’s required waiting period.
Certain medical conditions may also require physician clearance before treatment. Please review the next question for more information.
If you’re unsure whether you’re eligible, please contact us before booking.

Certain medical conditions may affect your skin’s ability to heal or increase the risk of complications during permanent makeup.
Please contact us before booking if you have any of the following:
Diabetes: Your condition must be well-managed, and written medical clearance is required.
Cancer treatment or chemotherapy: Written clearance from your oncologist is required before treatment.
Heart conditions or a pacemaker: Medical clearance is required to assess potential risks, including those associated with topical anesthetics.
High blood pressure: Your blood pressure must be well-controlled, and written medical clearance is required.
Thyroid conditions: Certain thyroid conditions or medications may affect pigment retention. We require medical clearance.
Glaucoma or significant eye conditions: Medical clearance may be required depending on your condition.
Lupus, organ transplantation, or a compromised immune system: These conditions may affect healing or infection risk and require individualized medical evaluation.
Other medical conditions: If you’re under a physician’s care or have concerns about a pre-existing condition, please contact us before scheduling.
Important: Medical clearance does not automatically guarantee eligibility. All treatments are subject to an individual assessment to ensure your safety.

Possibly! We love helping clients achieve their dream brows, but previous permanent makeup must be evaluated before booking.
Your existing brow tattoo must be light enough for us to work over. Depending on the color, saturation, shape, and placement of your previous tattoo, correction or removal may be necessary before we can proceed.
Have existing permanent makeup?
Please email us at fortworthbrows@gmail.com with several clear photos of your eyebrows without makeup, taken in natural lighting.
We’ll review your photos and let you know whether you’re a candidate for powder brows!

Please let us know before booking if you have a known allergy to lidocaine, epinephrine, or other numbing ingredients.
We typically use topical anesthetics during our permanent makeup procedures to keep you comfortable. However, powder brows can also be performed without numbing!
Our technique is designed to be gentle and minimally traumatic to the skin, and many of our clients report very little discomfort during their appointments. Some even fall asleep!
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but numbing isn’t always necessary for a comfortable experience.
If you have an allergy to numbing ingredients, please contact us before booking so we can review your options and determine whether proceeding without anesthetic is appropriate for you.
Your comfort and safety are always our priority!
